I'm Not Dead...Yet

Ok, so it's been far too long since my last post, though as luck would have it, I'VE BAKED since the last post! ...food...I've baked food. Sorry. Hot Chocolate Cupcakes, to be exact! Yes indeed, and I'll be posting the recipe as soon as I can, uh...find it. Sorry again. But siriusly, these cupcakes are soooooooo worth the wait, guys! There's so much chocolate in these cupcakes that they could basically ward off an entire pack of dementors. For real. Anywho, I'll get to those Zucchini Walnut muffins asap, I promise! And remember, don't stay locked in your cosy cupboard below the stairs! Get outside and enjoy the unbearable summer heat! xD

Ciao for now

I see...baking, in the near future...

Hey kids! Ok, so once again, my baking plans have been thwarted by some unseen force that just doesn't want me to create lovely baked goods! *cough* Voldemort *cough* So, I'm telling you what's going to happen this weekend. Me, Laura, Alana, and Luciana (?) are going to go on a Broadway Walk, which means besides hitting Jamba Juice and possibly Chipotle, we will also be going to CENTRAL MARKET! Which in turn means that I will be purchasing all of the necessary ingredients to be making Zucchini Walnut muffins...I cannot begin to describe my level of excitement right now...

;ALKSDJFA;SLKDJAS;LDKFA;LFK
EXCITEMENT!

Haha, so yes, look forward to a post from me this weekend about the awesomeness of awesome Zucchini Walnut muffins.

Awesome.

Postponed...

*sigh* Ok, so I was uber busy over break, and I didn't get ANY baking done! Not to mention my baking buddy was off in Disney World. Anywho, I just wanted to say that I will definitely have a recipe up sometime this weekend! Yes, yes, maybe Banana Chocolate Chip cookies, maybe Sherry Cake, maybe Zucchini Walnut Muffins of Awesomeness...or maybe all three? You'll find out soon!

Ciao

Spring Break, what took you so long?!?!

Haha, wow. Sorry I haven't posted a new recipe since the beginning of the month! Midterms definitely ate me alive this semester, but never fear, with Spring Break comes Spring Baking! And I've got a ton of recipes that I can't wait to try out, mainly these amazing sounding Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies! But anywho, I'm still in the midst of a take-home test (gah, I feel like Mcgonagall would give take-home exams) but once I get off of campus...LET THE BAKING BEGIN! xD

Hope your Spring Break is off to a *magical* start!

BRIGADEIROS

Okay, so what is a Brigadeiro?
Brigadeiro is a Brazilian party food staple. It's similar to a bonbon and only contains three ingredients (the sprinkles aren't required, though they make the brigadeiro have more of a variety of textures) so it's not expensive to make! Which is good for us, eh? So basically how this works is I present the recipe as I find it, but include my changes! These might be changes for taste or even a change in ingredients for price. Changes might also include cooking time, serving size, etc. So yeah, here's the recipe:

Prep Time Cook Time Ready In

10 min 10 ≈ 45 min 45 min ≈ 2 hours

Ingredients

~ 1 tin sweetened condensed milk

~ 2-3 4-5 tablespoons Nestle Quick powder

~ 2 1 tablespoons butter

~ chocolate sprinkles or granulated sugar or any preferred topping (shredded coconut is really good!)

~ tiny paper candy cups

Directions:

- combine ingredients in a heavy pot or saucepan and stir constantly over medium heat, bringing to a boil

- continue stirring about two minutes, or until mixture thickens enough to coat bottom of the pan (about 45 minutes to an hour ish)

- remove from heat and carefully scoop hot mixture out of pot into a separate bowl to cool

- cool completely LET COOL COMPLETELY!

- coat hands with butter and scoop out a tablespoon sized amount into the palm of your hand. roll the ball in sprinkles or sugar and let rest in a paper candy cup (or just pile them on a plate)

Well...what are you waiting for? Go try it out! Haha, or wait till spring break, and we can make them together! :) Either way, hope you like these. They're fantastic little bits of sweetness for the day, not too sweet though. Just enough to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Enjoi!

Hello There! Welcome to the Dungeon...

Er...I mean, Hello There! Welcome to my brand new cooking blog! I'm starting this because I'm finding so many recipes on Stumble, and I have to share them all! Not to mention I've been finding all sorts of recipes to try for cooking club that I want to share with you too. The only thing is that I always alter recipes...hence the "Half-Blood Prince(ss)" title. :) That...and I've always wanted to be Snape...just kidding! Haha, ok, so I guess I'll start off with something pretty easy? Like...brigadeiros! What are brigadeiros, you ask? Well, check out the next post to find out!

Happy Cooking!
